SONYA PAZ, LOCAL ARTIST, SELECTED TO DESIGN 2007 LOS ALTOS ARTS AND WINE FESTIVAL POSTER
SAN JOSE, Calif., June 25, 2007 – Sonya Paz, a Bay Area artist, was commissioned by the Los Altos Village Association to design and create this years Festival poster artwork for use on posters, postcards and flyers. The Los Altos Village Arts and Wine Festival now in its 38th year will occur in Downtown Los Altos on July 14 and 15, 2007.
Sonya Paz was selected to create the design and artwork for the Los Altos Village Arts and Wine Festival. Nancy Dunaway, Executive Director of the Los Altos Village Association says, “The Los Altos Village Association is thrilled to have the opportunity to use artwork by talented Sonya Paz, for the 38th Annual Los Altos Arts and Wine Festival. We think her fun and happy artwork typifies the festival and we appreciate the opportunity to work with her in promoting our event.”
Paz has been creating her colorful acrylic cubistic style popish paintings for over eight years. “I am deeply honored to be selected as the artist behind the design to represent the Los Altos Village Arts and Wine Festival this year”, said Sonya Paz. “In creating my paintings, I get my energy and inspiration from my California roots and my day-to-day enjoyment with life”.
Paz will be signing the Los Altos Arts and Wine Festival posters at the her booth on Saturday, July 14, and Sunday, July 15, between 10:00am and 2:00pm both days. The original artwork that she created for this event will also be offered for sale in her booth. This wonderful piece titled “Los Altos – Fun and Festive” is a 40″ x 10″ original acrylic painting on canvas.
Paz will be exhibiting her artwork in her booth during the Festival (Her booth will be located near the intersection of Main and Second Streets #437 and #439)
Sponsored by the Los Altos Village Association and the City of Los Altos, the Los Altos Village Arts and Wine Festival is recognized as a high quality, community-friendly art event. In the past, the Los Altos Village Arts and Wine Festival has attracted more than 100,000 people every year from throughout California and the West Coast. The backbone of the festival and the key to its success are the 300 fine artists and crafters whose display booths are placed back-to-back along Main and State Streets in downtown Los Altos. Special attractions include a kids’ art and crafts area, several major music venues, and the Italian Street Painting Expo.
