As a fulltime artist, I always try to keep all of my senses and creativity constantly going. Many of you know me for the paintings that I create and of course all the product line that I have created based on my art!
About three years ago we decided to move away from the hustle and bustle of San Jose and move 90 minutes away to the Central Valley region of California. I never realized how much I would love and embrace the country life out here. It’s very agricultural and I live in a town called Patterson, California.

Patterson is a small quaint town that’s famous for its apricots and almonds and I can tell you that there’s nothing more satisfying than to have farm fresh produce delivered to your door, yes seriously it is brought to our door every Saturday from the local produce lady!

I learned so much about the amazing agriculture in my area, this amazing way pf preserving food is amazing and this is what would become a life long obsession and addiction to preserve the farm fresh flavors of California.
Since learning how to preserve produce and making bread and butter pickles, I have delved into making preserves from peaches, apricots, cherries, strawberries, and have even gotten a little “sweet & spicy” with my creations.

At a recent visit to the local market I found that jalapeno peppers are certainly not in short supply around here. I picked up 3 lbs and decided to come home and research some recipes that I thought it would be good for making picked jalapenos. Since my hubby loves the pickled kind that you get at the local Taqueria I thought I would take a stab and try this out.

After much adjusting of my recipe, I got what my sweet pickled candied jalapeno peppers, I worked and worked the recipe until I got the right blend of sweet and spicy! It’s not only tasty, it’s very addicting!

Well, what happened was that I created what would be a favorite amongst family and friends and this wonderful mix of sweet and spicy and it consumes everyone that it comes into contact with, LOL! Whenever I make these – I sell out before I am finished.  I am so pleased to be able to offer these to you!

You can serve this on a slice of cream cheese with crackers for the perfect appetizer, or add to you favorites chicken salad, tuna salads, meatloaf, deviled eggs and use the juice as a marinade – or- better yet…. add this flavorful juice to a martini, bloody mary or a margarita for just the right kick!
