Here we are in the tail end of 2021, was this a great year or not so great year? I guess this posting is just a reflection of how I feel so far as we are coming to the conclusion of 2021.
It seems the older we get the quicker the time just drives by in the fast lane, so quickly you can’t even catch your breath… but all in all I would say this year’s been productive. For me, productivity means when I can focus on all of my art projects, doing all the marketing necessary to accomplish most of the feats and creations I’m working on, working on social media posts as well as trying to have a normal life outside of this crazy pandemic and the nonstop schedule that I seem to possess.
Every year in July I start setting reminders for myself to start gathering up ideas for my annual ornament design that I do every year. I usually ignore those reminders until they start coming heavily to me mid September and pestering me toward the beginning of October.
This year, the whole thing has been about “comfort” and what makes me happy and how I can reflect on the different flavors and visual fun-ness of the year. I chose the theme based on one of my all-time favorite paintings “In the land of lollipops and lattes”.
Two of my favorite things are candy – I looooove my sweet-tooth and my love for the taste of coffee. However because I cannot drink fully caffeinated coffee any longer I will settle for a cup of decaf which I’ve mastered the flavors to taste pretty close to the real stuff with the help of a lot of cream and sugar.
This year I have taken to the passion of creating on my iPad to develop my new artwork, this was really exciting because it really pushed me to some creative levels that I have not been able to really capture in the past and I really enjoyed creating this design. it was certainly a lot easier to transition into a printable product than having to do all of the color corrections on the post design work. So please with the way everything turned out! Be sure to check out and follow me on Instagram!
On another note, I can tell just by the amount of outdoor events that people are attending and occurring along with a massive amount of traffic that you have to deal with in the northern California bay area that maybe the pandemic is on its way to being a crazy memory of yesteryear?
I feel blessed for my family and friends and the health of myself as well as all of my family and friends.
I recently started a new group page on my Facebook profile called “Sonya Paz Creative” it’s a place where not only can I share some new creations and have discussions with those who also love to create, but to have a really great open dialogue with others who might feel intimidated or restricted about expanding or promoting their creativity. If you would like to join us, click here!
I really want to be able to blog more in the new year and two capture more videos of me creating, it seems like people really like to see that and I just don’t do it enough. I don’t understand why that is other than the crazy timing of everything these days just as I start feeling creative and want to sh showcase some cool design that I’m working on, then boom…. I get pulled away into a different direction or between family matters and other stuff I just can’t keep up with all of it sometimes. I will say that this year was an awesome year. What types of tings would you like to see from me? Please let me know!
I do hope everyone is well and that everyone is healthy and staying safe. Please feel free to drop me a line and let me know how you’re doing, cheers and best wishes to everyone!
