Brightens up Downtown Streets of
Historical Downtown Campbell, California
CAMPBELL, Calif., November 24, 2008. Downtown Campbell has a bright new look thanks to Bay Area artist Sonya Paz who donated her talent and time to create eye catching artwork for new banners throughout downtown. Paz created two different banner designs and color pallets to adorn the dark green antique lamp posts and some of the large street lights on the loop street gateways. City staff worked with Paz on designing art that would convey the message to “Shop with Us” and “Dine with Us” and support the downtown community.
When the opportunity arose to develop this banner design Paz said “she saw it as her chance to give back to the community. Customers want to feel great about coming here and this new look should brighten more than just the downtown streets, it should make you smile.” Paz’s pop art paintings, jewelry, and distinctive merchandise are showcased in her exclusive downtown Campbell gallery and featured in corporate and private collections throughout the US and internationally.
Along with her vivid and mesmerizing original paintings, limited editions and signature wristwear watch line, she has developed home furnishings such as ceramics, rugs, clocks, vases, platters, functional furniture and fashion apparel and much more.
Not only has Paz created the new banner designs for Downtown Campbell – she is expanding her gallery to a larger space. This is a major expansion for Paz in this enchanting and hip downtown Campbell., CA. This new location and gallery space will be exclusive to her work and has been designed by her with the accents of her style – very stylish and flavorful with painted floors and metal walls. She will be amongst great company as there are several fine shops, galleries and restaurants in the downtown area. The Sonya Paz Fine Art Gallery “Grand Opening” date is scheduled for, Friday, December 5, 2008, from 5-9pm.
Downtown Campbell is a historic downtown area best know for being a cannery town in the late 1800’s. This area became the center for shipping fruit, and within a short period of time, the drying grounds and canneries made Campbell an important rail center. Today, this enchanting and family friendly downtown community is surrounded by the historic flavor that it has always maintained it’s charming atmosphere. The new lightrail that delivers passengers daily. Pedestrian (and pet) friendly streets have a warm feel with one of the largest a farmers’ markets in the Bay Area, and many special monthly ongoing events in the open air of downtown, namely the new First Friday events throughout downtown businesses as well as the Downtown Campbell Artwalk.
