SANTA CLARA, Calif., November 8, 2004 Sonya Paz, a noted Bay Area artist, is pleased to announce that she has opened her first art gallery for the public in Santa Clara. She will host a Gallery Opening Reception on Saturday, December 4, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. to meet and greet her clients, guests, the media and local artists. Sonya’s gallery is located in The Loft building, a historical fruit drying facility, originally built in 1936, located near downtown Santa Clara.
For the last eight years, Sonya has created her art in a dedicated space in her home, but she is excited and relieved to finally have a professional gallery space for her art. She looks forward to meeting clients and opening up her gallery for special events in the local artist community. Next year, Sonya plans to conduct more collaborative selective group showings and participate in group exhibits, such as Silicon Valley Open Studios, which will occur in May 2005.
“This historical loft truly gives me much inspiration and freedom to create larger works and take my artwork to new fun energetic levels and to focus on projects that I have had on the back burner,” said Sonya Paz. “I now have much more space to be creative and transform my new ideas into reality. I plan to expand upon designs I have been pondering, such as fashion, accessories and creating artistic furniture for home and office decor.”
The gallery opening caps off a significant year of achievement for Sonya. Throughout the year, her work has been featured at major art events in the Bay Area. Her original art design was selected as the poster for the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts. Sonya was commissioned by the Sausalito Art Festival to design this year’s t-shirt art design. Her art was represented at the Annual Livermore Valley Harvest Wine Celebration on hats, t-shirts, glasses, posters and tickets. Her work was also featured at the South Bay Art Momentum Group Exhibit.
On December 4, Sonya will host an Opening Reception in her new Gallery to welcome clients, the media, and other artists in the local community. During the month of December, Sonya’s gallery hours will be 11:00 to 5:00 pm from Tuesday through Saturday. Extended hours are available by appointment.
